An interface that increased utilisation by 37%

Publicate was a tool that needed a refresh. I was tasked with the responsibility to create a new user interface for the application to bring a fresh aesthetic and enhanced usability. A UX redesign phase had just taken place and given the wireframes I was tasked with skinning the application with a cutting edge interface.

Styling

Colour Scheme

It was difficult finding a suitable colour scheme that worked well for the application and all stakeholders where happy with. We tried several iterations before deciding on a scheme that worked well for the brand whilst also sitting well in the application, alongside a variety of publications with varying typeface and colour schemes of their own.

Typography

Some stylistic decisions are easier than others. And the choice for the application typeface was unanimous. Oxygen is a font that works well in applications for it’s clarity and readability. It’s not very distinguishable on it’s own and therefore works well in the application without interfering with the brand typeface.

Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli.
